All week long–rain in Houston.

Friday morning, I was driving my son to grandma’s house and snapped this photo. The sun was peeking through the rain clouds, and it was still raining. We were waiting at a traffic light looking for a rainbow. What looks like a dark blue sky at the top is actually the window tinting on our car.

About Claudia
Hi!! My name is Claudia. Blogging is sort of a creative/therapeutic activity for me. I blog about being a wife, mother, student, caseworker, and simply being human through photography, words, music, and blog challenges. Mental illness has also been part of my life, so you'll sometimes find mental health and psychology in my posts. I've dealt with anxiety and depression most of my life. And my husband has bipolar disorder. My hope is that I may show readers that it is possible for people to live positive, productive lives despite mental illness, challenges, or frustrations.

Thanks! We sure did need rain in Houston, but I think now we want it to stop. Now we’re afraid of flooding.

omygosh, a gorgeous monet-ish photo.
July 15th, 2012 at 3:27 AM
Paige, thanks. I like the Monet reference. Didn’t expect the pic to come out all artistic. I just want to capture the sun and rain together. Thanks.

Rain is good, right? Photo looks like a watercolor – wait, it is!
July 15th, 2012 at 3:29 AM
Yes it is good. Hope it stops a little. Don’t want too much flooding.
Watercolor, I like that.

I think maybe close to too much rain. Then again we had a drought last year, so I guess I should not complain.
July 14th, 2012 at 1:53 PM
Here too! Would cry “mayday! mayday!” but we’ve been lucky and no floods locally so I’ll keep shtum.
July 15th, 2012 at 3:30 AM
We’re close to crying “mayday!” here. Lots of rain here.

Gorgeous picture. There haven’t been very many days that it hasn’t rained here- a little or a lot – since 2010! We’re growing webbed feet.

Vivian, thank you for the kind comment. Wow, you’ve had more rain than us. We had a drought last year. Funny, webbed feet

Very pretty photo – my friend in Houston says the rain was much-needed so I’m glad you got some.
Thanks for playing 6WS!

Cate, thanks. Did need the rain. The ground and plants were thirsty. Thanks for coming by.

Oh, yes. I’m very much aware of all the rain that befell Houston, and we got quite a treat ourselves around here. It sounded like God had turned on the faucet full-flood for a number of hours… and then nada.
I think God likes to keep us on our toes, eh?
July 18th, 2012 at 10:28 PM
I really think He does for our own good.

Well last week it rained almost non stop here on the other side of the world. But it is winter here and so we expect it. I love the photo – well done. And thanks for subscribing to my blog. I shall be back to see what you are up to again.

Sounds like it was raining over your area at the same time it rained over mine.
Thanks for your kind comment and thanks for coming by.

Amazing view of the sky. Love It! Reminds me that storms of llife may visit us to make our pathway dark – and we may feel that we can’t win; but somehow somewhere, God’s promises give us hope that burns within. I really appreciate you stopping by My Journal of Praise and liking posts. God bless your life.

I really enjoy taking photos of the sky. It never gets old.
You’re welcome. Your words through your posts and tweets are inspiring and comforting. Thanks for sharing your words.:)
