Macro Built

This post is for Macro Monday at Lisa’s Chaos blog.  This past Saturday my son completed a 400+ Lego set.  Below are a few views of his handy work.

Jung Liked It

This post is for Macro Monday at Lisa’s Chaos blog.  Scroll down for more details on the identity of the object.  It took me a many snaps to get this shot, and I still think it’s blurry.  But I think it’s the best one out of the bunch.  I used a macro lens extension tube to get the shot.

More details on the Macro

It’s a piece of a letter!

The macro is an extreme close up of the little hook on the top of the G. See it?

And the letter is part of this statement.

I bought this plaque several years ago at an Irish shop at the Texas Reinassance Festival. Being both Catholic and being a student of psychology, I had to get.

And this last photo, which is the back of the plaque, explains why I titled this post “Jung Liked It”.

Piano Yoda

This post is for Macro Monday at Lisa’s Chaos blog.

Below is a close up of my husband’s Yoda miniature at my piano. I don’t make much time to play or practice, so there’s some dust on the keys. I changed the color of the photos to sepia tint using PicMonkey. I had never noticed, but sepia is similar to the color of a penny.

And below is a dusty penny I found on the piano.

Macro Nuts

This post is for Macro Monday at Lisa’s Chaos blog. So far, my entries have been more close up than macro. But last week, I started using a macro extension tube set I bought on Amazon. I only paid $19 and change. Although it’s not the same as using an actual macro lens, I like the opportunity to experiment and learn from this extension tube set. Maybe later in the future, I can get the real thing. Below is a shot I took with the set on my Rebel EOS T3 camera. I think I have a macro photo now. They’re salted nuts in a mixed nut can.

And below is a photo, I took with my iPhone, of the Fotodiox extension tube set I used.

Backyard Yoda

This post is my first blog post for Macro Monday at Lisa’s Chaos blog.

A few weeks ago, I went out in my backyard to practice creating photos with shallow depth of field using a small object. I’ve seen Lego figures and gnomes photographed in natural settings (a Lego a day blog and Anxiety Adventures), so I thought it would be fun to use my husband’s miniature Yoda action figure. The photos below are two from the several shots I took. My son picked out the first one, and he also suggested we should throw out that swing set.
